Why You Must Destroy Your Past

Don’t worry.

The past is gone.

It’s not coming back.

What happened, happened.

You don’t have a magical Delorean that can go back and fix things.

Your previous experiences are lost in the ether of time.

Never to be seen again.

So why worry about it?

Why spend the rest of your life worrying about what was?

Mulling over something tragic that happened to you.

Wishing things could be different.

Praying for a second chance.

Craving a do-over.

You know that this way of thinking is foolish.

It’s not achieving anything.

By focusing on the past, you’re neglecting the present.

And what you have to understand is:

There’s always a way to deal with everything.

I don’t care what happened to you.

You could even be dealing with a terminal illness.

There’s always a way to salvage a situation.

No matter how bad the circumstances.

There’s never going to be a situation where you are so crippled that you’re incapable of bringing forth your full capacity.

Energy is undefeated, no matter the direness of the situation.

The only time the game is over, is when you’re dead.

While you’re still here and breathing, you’ve still got a fighter’s chance at salvation.

But in order to start fighting your way back, you need to destroy your past.

Why?

One word:

Redemption.

There’s nothing greater than recovering from a seemingly lost position.

This is why rags to riches stories are so compelling.

People who were seemingly destined for destitution, turn the tables and come out on top.

Redemption is the ultimate confidence builder.

There’s nothing more powerful than it.

You will never find a high that comes close to the one you’ll feel once you redeem yourself.

No substance on Earth can match the excellence of self-mastery, especially after you’ve made a grave mistake.

To experience redemption is to persevere.

It’s to embody a dogged determination that can’t be quelled.

It’s a sign that you’re listening to yourself over the voices of your detractors.

And it’s a commitment to your future over the mistakes you made in the past.

Most people simply don’t have the courage to let go of the errors they made.

They can’t march forward to victory because they’re too busy staring in the rearview mirror.

They’re too focused on the abuse coming from the crowd and can’t focus on the game.

By destroying your past, you’re creating your future.

Sometimes, this involves severing ties with people you had strong relationships with.

I get it, this can be terrifying.

But what you have to understand is, nothing is permanent.

Life itself is a fluid state.

You’re able to bend it to your will whenever you want.

A broken relationship today can be salvaged down the line.

A massive financial failure can be written off with one big win.

Every single failure you’ve ever experienced can be forgotten after a momentary victory.

But in order to experience all of these things, you need to let go of the past.

And the easiest way to do that, is by destroying it.
